MONOLOGE COACH
AUDITION PREP • SHAKESPEARE • CONTEMPORARY
I have spent over 20 years in the industry working in musical theatre, contemporary plays, and Shakespeare, ranging from Regional Theatre and Off-Broadway, as well as traveling on the road in national tours. I love what I do, and I love meeting new people. I recently graduated with my MFA in Acting from the University of Idaho. I’ve had many wonderful teachers over the years who have helped me grow into the artist I am today. Together we will refine your skills in order to help you book your next job! I offer a free 20-minute consultation on Zoom, so we can chat, and I can get a sense of your experience and goals.
If you are interested in Shakespeare, I can pick out some monologues for you to work on before our first lesson. I enjoy taking the intimidation out of the language to help you have fun with the text.
I keep my prices low because I believe we are all in this together, and I love being inspired by what others bring to the table. Feel free to message me for pricing and availability. I look forward to working with you!

Michael's approach to directing is truly an actor's preferred groundwork. Performing in his shows and working through complex, beat-for-beat monologues served to enhance my understanding of the ebbs and flows contained in each subtle pocket of the script. He understands translating the inherent 'musicality' of any work and helping performers find the captivating, emotional rhythm of their spoken word. No matter what show you do with Michael, he always makes it a patient, thoughtful, and exciting experience for those passionate toward their craft.

Michael is an absolute delight to work with! I had the privilege of working with Michael on his virtual production of 'A Few Good Men', and Michael was articulate, specific, and (most importantly) kind throughout the process. As an actor himself, Michael wields an actor's vocabulary in his directing and coaching, rendering his insight clear, concise, and nuanced. His deep understanding of text from Sorkin to Shakespeare makes him an essential resource in all things monologues, theatre, etc. I can't recommend him highly enough!

Michael is a great director and coach. He gives his actors the freedom to explore the story of a monologue with patience and persistence. He asks introspective questions, and has a jovial presence. He helped me to discover key moments in my monologue through visualization, repetition, and discussion. He is also a wonderful listener and trusts his actors in their discoveries. He is a joy to work with.
